- Gets top-spec, performance-focused components.
- Likely bump in power output.
- Expected to arrive sometime next year.
Triumph Motorcycles seems to have given their performance-focused modern-retro bike, the Thruxton R an overdose of pixie-dust for 2019.
The bike was spied in near production-ready form hinting that a launch is not far away. While it looks similar to the current bike, the 2019 model now appears to get a slightly redesigned carbon fibre fairing along with carbon-fibre front mudguard and side panels too. Furthermore, it also rides on fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension on both ends with Brembo handling braking duties. The bike continues to get spoke wheels for that retro appeal but these are now wrapped in stickier Metzeler Racetec RR tyres.
The bike is expected to use a slightly retuned version of the 1200cc, parallel-twin motor on the current bike. The test mule was also sporting a pair of Vance and Hines pipes, suggesting an obvious bump in power. Triumph will surely introduce the 2019 Thruxton R in India sometime next year and given the specs of the bike, it will surely demand a hefty premium over the current version which retails at Rs 11.92 lakhs (ex-showrrom, Mumbai)
