Triumph Motorcycles India will be launching the 2019 Tiger 800 XCa in India tomorrow. It is the range-topping version of the Tiger 800’s XC series packing all the features of the XCx model along with additional equipment.
Until now, the Triumph only sold the Tiger 800 XCx in India. With the addition of the XCa variant, The Tiger 800’s off-road line-up will be complete. Triumph had introduced the third generation Tiger 800 in 2018, wherein the manufacturer claims that there are 200 updates on the motorcycle. These updates have been made pertaining to rider aids, safety features and performance. The XCa features an all-LED lights setup covering the headlamp, indicators, fog lamps and taillight. The ergonomic switchcubes and 5-way joystick are backlit for easy spotting when riding at night. Besides that, the 5-inch full-colour TFT display for the instrument console features a total of six screen styles. It also gets heated grips and seat, aluminium radiator guard and a centre stand apart from the standard features like updated cruise control, traction control and switchable ABS.
Powering the XCa is a new generation 800cc inline three-cylinder mill which is capable of producing 94bhp of max power with 79Nm of peak torque. The liquid-cooled 12 valve DOHC motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle features six riding modes, Road, Off-Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road Pro and Rider-Programmable.
Being an off-road based variant, the XCa comes equipped with 43mm WP inverted forks up front with 220mm of travel and a WP monoshock at the back with 215mm of travel, both adjustable. For braking, the motorcycle employs twin discs up front with Brembo calipers and a single disc at the rear with a Nissin caliper. The XCa sports a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres.
Expect Triumph to price the 2019 Tiger 800 XCa around the Rs 15-16 lakhs range, ex-showroom.
