- 2019 MT-03 unveiled at the Bangkok Motor Show
- Get a new paint scheme for 2019
- Likely to arrive in India by next year
Yamaha has unveiled the 2019 MT-03 at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand.
The streetfighter motorcycle which is based on the YZF-R3 that is sold here gets a new white and red paint scheme for 2019. The paint has been derived from Yamaha's 'Dark Side of Japan' campaign for its 'MT' range of motorcycles. Apart from the new colour the MT-03 remains the same as the previous version.
It gets an aggressively chiselled fuel-tank and a sharp, raised tail section borrowed from the R3. At the front is a low-slung headlamp that gets LED DRLs. Above it is a semi-digital display with an analogue tachometer. The 2019 MT-03 rides on telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
The wheels are similar to the Indonesian-spec MT-15 while the swingarm is a box-type unit. Powering the 2019 MT-03 is a 321cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine that produces 41bhp and 29.6Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
We can expect the Yamaha MT-03 to arrive on Indian shores sometime in the near future. It will go head on against the BMW G310 R and KTM 390 Duke.
