-Gets new colour scheme
-Price hike of Rs 16,000 over the outgoing model
Yamaha has launched the 2019 MT-09 in India with a price tag of Rs 10.55 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is an increase of Rs 16,000 over the earlier version.
For 2019, the MT-09 gets a new white and red colour scheme that will be offered alongside the blue/black and full black options. Apart from this new paintjob, the MT-09 is no different than the previous model. It sports a radical styling accentuated by its twin-LED headlamp and the massive air intakes on both sides of the tank. The rear end looks minimalistic thanks to the flat, single-piece seat and svelte tail section.
Powering the bike is a 847cc, inline-three cylinder motor that produces 111bhp and 87.5Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and one-way quickshifter. The MT-09 comes equipped with electronic aids such as traction control, ABS and D-mode which adjusts engine power in three different modes.
The bookings for the 2019 MT-09 which comes in as a CBU (completely built unit) have commenced in Yamaha’s big bike showrooms across India. The motorcycle competes with the Triumph Street Triple 765, Ducati Monster 821 and the Kawasaki Z900 in the country.
