- YZF-R15 now gets dual-channel ABS system
- Priced at Rs 1.41 lakhs for new darknight colour
Yamaha Motors India has finally introduced the YZF-R15 ABS variant. The R15 now gets dual-channel ABS system and has been priced at Rs 1.39 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the standard colours.
The company has introduced a new darknight colour which demands a premium of Rs 2000, taking its price tag to Rs 1.41 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). With this new launch, the YZF-R15 is the first 150cc motorcycle in India to be equipped with a dual-channel ABS system. There’s an increase of Rs 12,000 over the non-ABS models which we think is a decent increase for a motorcycle this type.
This Yamaha is known for its VVA-equipped 155cc liquid-cooled engine. This motor makes around 18.7bhp and 15Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also sports assist and slipper clutch increase the overall experience. The Deltabox frame is known for its agility and balance.
The YZF-R15 has been bringing good and consistent sales for the company since it was launched in India. However, with the ABS variant, the on-road pricing has gone above Rs 1.5 lakhs, making it look quite expensive. Its nearest rival is the KTM 200 Duke which is priced at Rs 1.6 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
