A few weeks ago a camouflaged 2019 Yamaha YZF-R25 was spotted testing in Indonesia. Now, renderings by Japanese magazine, Young Machine reveal what the production bike could look like. We can expect similar changes on the India-bound 2019 YZF-R3 too.
The biggest change is the introduction of the gold-finished inverted front forks that will replace the telescopic units on the current model. The design language of the bike is also sharper. The front end houses the split-headlamp setup that is likely to be a full-LED unit. Yamaha is expected to offer the bike with a full-digital instrument cluster in place of the semi-digital display. It also gets a V-shaped air vent similar to its bigger siblings, the YZF-R6 and YZF-R1. The 2019 YZF-R25 continues with the split seat although it now gets integrated air vents in the rear section.
The 2019 bike will be powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin engine, although it is likely to produce more power. The current model puts out 41bhp and 29.6Nm of torque. The YZF-R15 is equipped with a slipper clutch and Variable Valve Actuation technology (VVA) as standard and we can expect the same with the 2019 YZF-R3.
The 2019 Yamaha YZF-R25 and YZF-R3 is likely to debut at the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show. We can expect the manufacturer to launch the R3 in India sometime next year. Once launched, the bike will compete against the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R in India.
