- New S1000RR recalled due to oil leaks
- Oil hoses might have been attached incorrectly
BMW Motorrad has recalled its flagship supersport, the S1000RR over oil leak issue. This litre-class superbike may have an oil leak from the oil cooler hoses.
According to the company, 416 units of the S1000RR have been affected by this issue. The German maker discovered that the oil cooler hoses may not have been attached correctly to the oil pipes on the bike’s engine. The leaking oil may drop in the path of the rear tyre, which could prove to be fatal for the rider and the surroundings.
The company currently is in the process of contacting the affected customers. BMW will ask the owners to bring the affected bikes to their nearest service centres and will replace the oil cooler assembly free of charge.
It’s still not clear if the Indian S1000RR have been affected by this issue. The Indian market gets the S1000RR from Germany as it is fully imported into the country.
