As we wait with bated breath for the 2019 EICMA show, manufacturers are also preparing to surprise us in every way possible. Similar to all EICMA participants, Benelli is also charting a plan to set up an attractive arena at the event. Although the brand hasn’t released any teasers yet, the leaked pictures and patents point towards the arrival of the 2020 TNT600i and the Leoncino 800. Now, based on what we know so far, let’s take a glimpse at what to expect from these prospective EICMA-bound Benellis.
2020 Benelli TNT 600i
According to the leaked images, Benelli has been studying various designs for its popular middle-weight naked, the TNT 600i. The bike maker will bestow the motorcycle with a more aggressive and sharper styling. We have already seen two different designs in the leaked patents sporting radical-looking LED headlamps with sleek and angular body panels.
The TNT600i will be powered by the same 600cc, inline four-cylinder motor. However, it is expected to be a heavily revised unit in order to comply with the forthcoming emission norms. Meanwhile, the leaked images suggested Benelli is likely to keep the chassis, suspension and braking set up unchanged.
Benelli Leoncino 800
Benelli had showcased a stunning scrambler concept, the Leoncino 800, at the EICMA last year. Following this, the production version of the motorcycle was shown in China earlier this year. That hints at the impending arrival of the Leoncino 800 at this year’s EICMA. The motorcycle features the same neo-retro scrambler design language as its 250cc and 500cc siblings, which were launched in India this year.
As for the powerplant, it will pack a 754cc, parallel-twin motor which does duty on the 752S naked bike. Similar to its smaller siblings, the Leoncino 800 will also come in multiple variants such as a road-biased and an off-road-oriented iteration. After launching the Leoncino 800 in the international markets, Benelli will most probably bring it to the Indian shores as well, considering how aggressively the brand is expanding its portfolio in the country.
Besides the unveiling of production models, EICMA also witnesses several interesting concepts being showcased. We are sure Benelli will also have a concept or two in the pipeline for this year’s EICMA, to spike more interest amongst the audience while giving a peek at what the future holds.
