- Features an Akrapovic exhaust system
- Gets revised styling, components and electronics
- To be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan
When it comes to building excitement before a product unveils, KTM surely seems to know a thing or two about it. After releasing two teaser videos of the upcoming 2020 Super Duke R, the Austrian-based bike maker has released yet one teaser video, the third one to be precise, that has got us all even more pumped up.
The teaser video starts at a racetrack with the meaty exhaust note of the new 1290 Super Duke R sporting an Akrapovic exhaust canister followed by small video bits of the flagship motorcycle cutting through chicanes and chasing down the track at full clip. The short 25-second video ends with the date 5 November 2019 highlighting the official unveiling date of the motorcycle which falls during the upcoming EICMA event in Milan.
Meanwhile, KTM has also been spotted testing the 1290 Super Duke R earlier this year. The motorcycle is equipped a light-weight aluminium sub-frame instead of the steel trellis one on the out-going model. Engine-wise, the hooligan motorcycle is expected to be powered by the same 1103cc V-twin unit that’ll register a slightly higher power output figures despite the Euro 5 norms. KTM is expected to have achieved this by running a new map and an updated electronics package.
More information on this beasty motorcycle from KTM once it is officially unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show next month.
