- 2020 Aprilia range to get major updates
- Will sport Bluetooth connectivity
- Will be launched in early 2020
Piaggio is gearing up to update its entire Aprilia SR scooter range. These new scooters will be launched as a 2020 model, and will make its debut in the first quarter of 2020.
According to our sources, the Aprilia SR 125, SR 125 Storm and the SR 150 scooters will get LED headlight, taillight and revised graphics. Along with these features, the scooters will be equipped with Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster as standard. These features are being added for two reasons. Firstly, to justify the price increase that will come with the BS-VI engine introduction. Secondly, the Indian market is moving towards connected systems in two-wheelers. So it made sense to integrate a feature like that. It also helps in their premium positioning.
While the Italian maker is busy updating these models, most of their focus and energy is channelled towards an all new scooter, which will be launched under the Aprilia brand. This scooter will come in two variants – 125cc and 160cc and has been completely developed in Italy with the help of their Indian counterparts. The Italian maker will launch one of the scooters early next year which is expected to compete against the TVS Ntorq and the Suzuki Burgman Street.
