BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2020 G310 GS for global markets and will launch the adventure-touring motorcycle in India on 8 October.
The 2020 G310 GS gets new features, technology and a BS6-compliant engine. To begin with, it features full-LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. And in terms of styling too, the G310 GS is slightly revised. The Apart from the new headlight that changes the look of the fascia, the motorcycle’s tank extensions also appear to be redesigned. To top it all off, the 2020 BMW G310 GS sports a new ‘Rallye’ paint scheme that comprises of blue and black with red highlights and a red trellis frame. It is also to be available in Plain Polar White and a ‘40 Years GS’ Edition.
As for technology, BMW Motorrad has equipped the G310 GS with ride-by-wire throttle which could mean it will now come with ride modes like the TVS Apache RR 310. However, unlike the latter, the BMW misses out on a Bluetooth-enabled display. The 312cc engine has been revised to comply with BS6 norms but manages to produce the same 34bhp and 28Nm. Nevertheless, the six-speed gearbox now benefits with an assist and slipper clutch.
While pricing is unknown, BMW Motorrad is expected to price the 2020 G310 GS around Rs 40,000-Rs 50,000 lower than its previous price of Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the KTM 390 Adventure in the country.
