- Available in a single variant
- Gets revised styling and new features
- Comes with three-year/unlimited kilometres warranty
BMW Motorrad has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the 2020 S 1000 XR. The latest iteration of the adventure sports tourer is available in a single variant, S 1000 XR Pro, and it has been priced at Rs 20,90,000 (ex-showroom India).
The 2020 model packs several styling and mechanical upgrades over its predecessor. The front fascia, for example, drops the asymmetrical design for a pair of sleek headlights. The latest iteration of the motorcycle also features full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled 6.5-inch colour display. The motorcycle is available in two colour options – Racing Red and Ice Grey.
The motorcycle uses a Euro5/BS6-compliant 999cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 16-valve, DOHC engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 162bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm.
The S 1000 XR comes with a standard warranty of ‘three years, unlimited kilometres’, with an option to extend the warranty to the fourth and fifth year. The motorcycle rivals the likes of Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Kawasaki Versys 1000.
