- Saudi Arabia to host the 2020 Dakar Rally
- Will be shifting base after a decade in South America
- Official announcement to be made on 25 April
The Dakar Rally is by far, one of the biggest motorsport endurance races in the world. And the 2020 version of the Dakar Rally is scheduled to be organised in Saudi Arabia.
The Middle-Eastern kingdom is said to be offering 1.4 million sqaure miles for the Dakar Rally. And ASO, the event organisers have signed a five-year agreement with the Saudi Arabian government. South America hosted the Dakar Rally for the last decade although the Rally finds its roots in Africa where it was conducted for nearly 30 years prior.
The Dakar Rally has always been an interesting motorsport event involving gruesome courses that would test the endurance of both the machine and rider. While KTM has been clenching the top spot for quite a while now, Indian manufacturers like TVS and Hero Motocorp have been consistently participating at the recent Dakar Rallys too.
An official announcement will be made on 25 April in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia regarding the 2020 Dakar Rally. The plan and course is also expected to be revealed then.
