- Honda unveils the 2020 CB1000R at 2019 EICMA
- Receives subtle cosmetic changes and a new colour scheme
- Remains unchanged in terms of engine and cycle parts
Honda has unveiled the 2020 edition of its litre-class naked streetbike, the CB1000R, at the ongoing EICMA motor show. The motorcycle has received minor cosmetic changes over the existing model while a new Matte Pearl Glare White colour scheme has also been introduced.
The motorcycle now gets a blacked-out treatment on various body panels, replacing the silver paint job. It features a black triple clamp and stem along with a black headlight surround. A new silver strip running at the centre of the fuel tank rounds off the subtle cosmetic changes. Honda has given these updates on both the versions of the motorcycle including standard and Plus trim. Notably, only the latter is sold in India.
The CB1000R remains unchanged in terms of engine and cycle parts. The motorcycle is powered by a 999cc, inline four-cylinder motor which produces 141.4bhp at 10,500rpm and 104Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. The neo-retro Honda also gets ample of features such as a full-colour TFT instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, ABS and four riding modes. Suspension hardware comprises of inverted forks and monoshock, both sourced from Showa, while braking duties are handled by a dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear.
While both the versions of the 2020 CB1000R will be available in the international markets soon, we also expect the updated Plus trim to come to India at a later stage.
