- Honda Rebel updated for 2020
- Gets slight cosmetic and mechanical updates
- Could be launched in India next year
Honda has unveiled the 2020 Rebel which is available in two variants- Rebel 300 and Rebel 500. Both variants get slight cosmetic and mechanical changes that differentiate it from the respective outgoing model.
The most prominent visual change to the cruiser-styled motorcycle is the new full-LED headlamp. The tail lamp and turn indicators on the Rebel also come fitted with LED lighting. It also sports a redesigned seat along with an updated instrument cluster that now displays a fuel gauge and gear indicator.
On the mechanical front, the 2020 Honda Rebel gets a slipper clutch for lighter clutch pull. Apart from these changes, the motorcycle remains the same. The Rebel 300 comes powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 30bhp and 27.4Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Rebel 500’s 471cc, single-cylinder motor puts out 45.6bhp and 43.2Nm. Telescopic forks up front and a pair of shocks at the rear take care of suspension duties whereas the bike employs a single disc at both ends for braking.
Honda recently announced its 2020 plan for India which includes the launch of five new motorcycles and we expect the Rebel to be one of them, either in 300 or 500 form. If it does make its way to our country, the motorcycle will go up against the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 and Thunderbird 500 along with the upcoming Jawa Perak.
