- Will feature an updated instrument cluster and a few styling tweaks
India Kawasaki Motors will soon update its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Ninja 1000. We previously reported that the latest iteration of the litre-class sports tourer from the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will be launched in a matter of days.
Now, dealer sources have confirmed that the motorcycle will be launched at Rs 10,79,000 (ex-showroom). In comparison, the BS4 model was priced at Rs 10,29,000 (ex-showroom). The on-road price for the BS6 version, after the addition of taxes, insurance and RTO charges, will be about Rs 13,68,000.
As reported earlier, the 2020 Ninja 1000 gets minimal styling changes over the BS4 model. The BS6-compliant version comes with a sharper fully-faired design, a new 4.3-inch TFT console and a single canister instead of the quad-unit on the BS4 bike. Engine specifications include a 1,043cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder motor with altered throttle valves that are aimed to deliver smoother power delivery. Other electronic rider aids include cornering ABS and bi-directional quick-shifter.
Apart from the Ninja 1000, India Kawasaki Motors will also launch the BS6-compliant Z650 in our market. The company has already launched the Ninja 650 BS6 in India at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
