The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 has started arriving at select dealerships in India. The middle-weight sport tourer was launched in the country last month carrying a sticker price of Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom). That makes it Rs 34,000 more expensive over the BS4 model. Bookings for the bike have already commenced while deliveries are expected to begin soon.
The Ninja 650 retains its fully-faired design but with subtle changes such as a more pointed front end and a restyled fairing. It comes equipped with a dual LED headlamp with LED tail lamp while the instrumentation setup comprises of a new 4.3-inch TFT display which pairs with the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth.
Powering the Ninja 650 is the same 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which gets reworked intake and exhaust system for compliance with the new emissions norms. Although it continues to pump out 66.4bhp and 64Nm, the md-range torque has been improved for better touring experience. The new 2020 model of the sport tourer also incorporates Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres for better grip.
The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 locks horns with other middle-weight touring-oriented machines including the Honda CBR650R and CFMoto 650GT.
