- Deliveries of the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 begin
- Was launched in India in May 2020
- Priced at Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom)
Deliveries of the newly-launched 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 middle-weight fully-faired motorcycle has commenced in India. The Japanese bike maker had launched the BS6-compliant model in May 2020 with a sticker price of Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
The styling of the Ninja 650 has received subtle updates over the previous model in the form of a sharper front end and fairing. The available colour options include Lime Ebony Green and Pearl Flat Stardust White. It is also more modern on the feature front with equipment such as full-LED headlamp and tail lamp and the new 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Powering the motorcycle is a 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor which churns out 66.4bhp and 64Nm. Although this is the same unit as before, it gets revised intake and exhaust setup for cleaner emissions and strong mid-range torque. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, it is suspended by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a pair of disc at the front and a single disc at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS.
The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is manufactured locally which aids in pricing it aggressively. In terms of competition, the motorcycle goes up against the Honda CBR650R, BS4 version of which was priced at Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The BS6 model is likely to be slightly more expensive.
