After unveiling the 2020 Ninja 650 in October, Kawasaki has now revealed the pricing of its popular sports tourer in the UK. The pricing of the motorcycle varies depending on the selected colour option. Available in three paint schemes, while the Metallic Spark Black variant costs £6899 (Rs 6.55 lakhs), Lime Green with Ebony (KRT Edition) and Pearl Flat Stardust White with Metallic Flat Spark Black trims are pegged at £7049 (Rs 6.70 lakhs).
The 2020 Ninja 650 gets a host of updates over its predecessor. In terms of looks, it boasts of Kawasaki’s modern design theme with sharper and sportier styling, which draws inspiration from its supersport sibling, the ZX-6R. It gets a pointed nose fairing, a more muscular fuel tank, split seat and a svelte tail section. The motorcycle incorporates split LED headlamp and tail lamp along with LED turn indicators integrated within the fairing. Kawasaki has also updated its instrument cluster which is now a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch full-colour TFT unit.
The new Ninja 650 continues to be powered by the same 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor. However, it is now Euro5/BS6-complaint. This has resulted in a drop of 1.7Nm in its torque figure which stands 63.7Nm while the power out remain unchanged at 67.2bhp. Damping duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by a pair of 300mm discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear.
Kawasaki will launch the 2020 Ninja 650 in India sometime next year. And when it comes, it will demand a considerable premium over the existing model which retails at Rs 5.89 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
