Kawasaki India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the 2020 Ninja 650. The latest iteration of the Japanese middleweight sports tourer was introduced at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 6.24 lakh. Here we list the top highlights of the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650.
Updated design
The 2020 Ninja 650 draws styling cues from the ZX-6R and the Ninja 400. Thus, the motorcycle packs a more aggressive look that is complemented by a redesigned fairing, new windscreen, full LED headlight and updated graphics. Features such as fairing integrated front blinkers, muscular fuel tank, split-style seats and a compact exhaust canister are similar to its predecessor. The motorcycle is available in two colours – Lime Green Ebony and Pearl Flat Stardust White.
New features
The updated styling is complemented by new features such as full LED headlight and a Bluetooth-enabled, colour TFT display. The 4.3-inch TFT screen on the 2020 Ninja 650 works with the “Rideology The App” smartphone application for displaying the motorcycle’s status and a comprehensive ride data. The motorcycle also comes equipped with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres.
BS6-compliant engine
Kawasaki has updated the 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor to comply with the newest emission norms. Despite complying with the BS6 norms, the engine continues to deliver an almost similar power output figure as the BS4 model. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the parallel-twin motor makes 66.4bhp and 64Nm. Kawasaki claims that the 2020 model delivers better mid-range torque.
Price
The added equipment and features have pushed the prices higher, and the 2020 Ninja 650 is listed at Rs 6.24 lakh. In comparison, the BS4 motorcycle was sold for Rs 5.89 lakh – both ex-showroom prices. Several Kawasaki dealers across India have already started accepting bookings for the 2020 Ninja 650.
