Kawasaki has launched the 2020 Versys 1000 in India. The manufacturer’s flagship adventure-touring motorcycle continues to retail at Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The only change that the Versys 1000 gets for 2020 is a new ‘Candy Lime Green’ with ‘Metallic Spark Black’ paint scheme. It also gets the ‘Pearl Stardust White’ with ‘Metallic Spark Black’ colour that featured on the 2019 model. Apart from the new colour, the bike remains the same mechanically. It comes powered by a 1043cc, inline-four cylinder engine that produces 118.2bhp and 102Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Furthermore, the Versys 1000’s electronic package also features Electronic Cruise Control, two power modes, five-axis Bosch IMU, cornering ABS and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with three modes.
Bookings for the 2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000 have already commenced in Kawasaki showrooms across India. In terms of competition, the bike goes head-on against the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 800 XR, BMW F750 GS and the Ducati Multistrada 950.
