Along with 2020 edition of the Z900 unveiled at 2019 EICMA, Kawasaki also showcased the corresponding 2020 Z650 at the event. Under the new update, the Z650 gets revised styling, updated features and new colour schemes.
Starting with the looks, the 2020 version of the Z650 gets a more chiselled look with edgier lines that adorn the bikes minimalistic fairing. The front headlamp assembly now features all-LED lighting, a much-needed upgrade from the current model. It gets a multi-function colour TFT instrument console with a 10.9cm screen replacing the previous console. It now gets a gear position indicator, shift lamp, fuel gauge and Kawasaki’s Economical Riding Indicator. Furthermore, the meter is now equipped with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity that can be used for GPS navigation, vehicle service status and other notifications. Besides that, Kawasaki has updated the pillion seat with deeper and wider padding to make long-distance journeys more comfortable.
The trellis-type chassis on 2020 Z650 remains unchanged but it receives a dash of green giving it a premium appeal. As for cycle parts, the setup remains the same with telescopic forks up front and monoshock at the rear. Braking is done by twin discs at the front and a single unit at the rear. The motorcycle now comes fitted with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres as standard.
Kawasaki has introduced three new colour schemes for the new motorcycle which includes Candy lime green/Metallic Spark Black, only Metallic Spark Black and lastly Pearl Blizzard White/Metallic Spark Black. Expect the 2020 Kawasaki Z650 to reach showroom in the international market shortly while the India launch of the new motorcycle will happen sometime next year.
