Kawasaki will soon launch the new Z650 in India in the coming weeks. Before the bike is introduced in the country, we bring to you details of the new Z650 for you to ogle at.
The new Z650 is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 6.25 lakhs and Rs 6.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). While that is a considerable premium over the previous model, the 2020 version offers a few updates to compensate for the increase in price.
To begin with, the new Z650 gets a few styling tweaks, incorporating the current Sugomi design. It sports an aggressive front end which houses a full-LED headlamp. The tank shrouds are also more angular and beefier, completing the bike’s new edgy styling.
In terms of features, Kawasaki has updated the motorcycle with a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT instrument console that can be connected to the rider’s smartphone using Bluetooth and the Kawasaki Rideology app.
The new Z650 also boasts of a revised rider and pillion seat that have been made more comfortable for longer rides thanks to wider and deeper cushioning.
Powering the motorcycle is a BS6-compliant 649cc, parallel-twin engine that continues to produce 67.2bhp and 65.7Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive.
Braking and suspension hardware on the new Z650 remains the same with telescopic forks upfront, a monoshock at the rear and a dual-disc setup with ABS. However, the bike now comes with Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyres for better grip.
As for colour options, the Z650 will initially be available only in a single colour option of Metallic Spark Black and is expected to be offered more paint schemes later on.
