Kawasaki India has launched the 2020 Z650 in the country priced at Rs 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom). While we have listed the options you have in that price range in another article, here we bring to you detailed images of the motorcycle.
The new Z650 sports a refreshed design, incorporating Kawasaki’s latest Sugomi design language. The fascia is now more aggressive than the previous model and features a full-LED headlamp. Kawasaki has added new decals and tweaked the design of the tank shrouds, making them edgy and muscular.
The styling remains unchanged beyond the 15-litre fuel tank. However, Kawasaki has revised the rider and pillion seats on the 2020 Z650 to make them wider and deeper cushioning for added comfort.
And in terms of features, the new motorcycle comes equipped with a 4.3-inch, full-colour TFT display that replaces the semi-digital unit on the previous model. Moreover, this instrument console is also Bluetooth-enabled and can be paired to a smartphone using the Kawasaki Rideology app.
Powering the motorcycle is the 649cc, parallel-twin engine also found on the recently launched 2020 Ninja 650. This BS6-compliant motor is capable of churning out 67.2bhp of power and 65.7Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Apart from the new Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyres, the new motorcycle is unchanged in terms of cycle parts. It continues to use 41mm telescopic forks up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by a pair of 300mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc for the rear.
Kawasaki India is offering the 2020 Z650 in a single colour option of Metallic Spark Black. And with dealerships across the country accepting bookings for the motorcycle, deliveries are expected to commence soon.
