- 2020 Kawasaki Z650 to be launched soon
- Likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 25,000 over BS4 model
- Gets cosmetic changes and new features
The 2020 Kawasaki Z650 is expected to be launched in India soon. And according to our dealer sources, the motorcycle is to be priced at Rs 5.94 lakh, ex-showroom.
This is a premium of Rs 25,000 over the BS4 model which was priced at Rs 5.69 lakh. However, for the extra money, Kawasaki has tweaked the new Z650 visually giving it a meaner-looking full-LED headlamp and redesigned angular tank shrouds. Moreover, Kawasaki has also equipped the new model with a 4.3-inch, full-colour TFT instrument console. The unit can be paired to the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth and the Kawasaki Rideology app.
Powering the Z650 is a BS6-compliant 649cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 67.2bhp and 65.7Nm; same as the BS4 model. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. While the suspension and braking hardware are the same as before, the motorcycle now comes with Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyres.
In terms of competition, the Kawasaki Z650’s only rival in India is the Benelli TNT 600i although the motorcycle has not yet been updated to comply with BS6 norms.
