- Kawasaki likely to launch the 2020 Z900 this month
- Launched in February 2020 was a BS4-compliant limited edition version
- Features a host of updates over the previous model
Kawasaki has launched multiple BS6-compliant models in India until now. These include the 2020 Ninja 650, Z650, Vulcan S and the Ninja 1000 SX. Now, our dealer sources have revealed that the Japanese bike maker is expected to launch the 2020 BS6 model of its popular Z900 naked offering in India this month.
Some of you may remember that Kawasaki had launched the 2020 Z900 in India in February 2020 as a limited edition model. However, that version was pitched as a BS4-compliant offering, despite it sporting all the updates of the latest Euro5 (BS6 equivalent) model. Now, the upcoming bike will be the same limited edition version but it will be officially compliant with the new BS6 emission norms.
The 2020 Z900 carries a host of updates over the previous edition which includes a new more aggressive front fascia with an LED headlamp. It also gets a Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument cluster, traction control system, two power modes and four riding modes. Moreover, it incorporates the new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres. In its BS4 guise, the 948cc, in-line four motor churns out 123bhp and 98.6Nm which is likely to remain the same for the BS6 model.
Kawasaki had launched BS4 special edition model of the Z900 at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which was at a premium of Rs 30,000 over the previous standard version. Now, although the 2020 BS6 model won’t have many changes over the special edition bike, expect it to be pegged slightly higher.
