The 2020 Kawasaki Z900 is all set to be launched in India soon. The naked streetfighter has received plenty of updates over the outgoing model in the form of new features, fresh styling and a BS6-compliant powerplant. Before the new model hit our shores, we take a glimpse through the string of its pictures.
Kawasaki has revamped the styling of the new Z900 by lending it a new front fascia. The headlamp design is now more angular and gets LED lamps with LED DRLs while the turn indicators are also LED.
The new Z900 also sports beefier tank extensions flanking the muscular fuel tank complemented by fresh set of decals.
The rear design of the motorcycle remains unchanged which incorporates split seat resting on a svelte tail section, complete with a radical-looking LED tail lamp.
The motorcycle has also been updated in terms of features with the previous semi-digital instrument cluster being replaced by a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
While it continues to be powered by a 948cc, inline four-cylinder motor, the engine is now Euro5/BS6-compliant. Despite undergoing changes to comply with new emission norms, the power figures remain unchanged at 123bhp and 98.6Nm.
Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, damping duties on the motorcycle are handled by 41mm inverted forks up front with preload, damping and rebound adjustability along with a monoshock at the rear with similar adjustability options.
Braking is handled by a pair of 300mm petal-style discs with four-piston calipers at the front and a 250mm disc with single-piston caliper at the rear assisted by dual-channel ABS.
Kawasaki will price the 2020 Z900 between Rs 8.5-9 lakhs (ex-showroom) which will be a substantial premium over the existing version which retails at Rs 7.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
