- New Kawasaki Z900 to be priced between Rs 8.5 lakhs to Rs 9 lakhs
- Gets slight cosmetic changes and updated electronics
- To be launched in India in the coming weeks
Kawasaki will soon launch the new Z900 in India priced between Rs 8.5 lakhs and Rs 9 lakhs (ex-showroom). This is a premium of nearly Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the current model.
The new Z900 was globally unveiled at the 2019 EICMA sporting cosmetic changes and an upgrade in technology. To begin with, the 2020 Z900’s most prominent visual change is the newly designed full-LED headlamp that is in tune with Kawasaki’s Sugomi design language. The motorcycle’s tank extensions are also sharper and the tail section is edgier.
Nevertheless, the most important change in the 2020 Z900 is the addition of an updated electronics package, which the previous-gen model missed out on. It gets a 4.3 inch colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and connects to a smartphone via the Kawasaki Rideology app. It also gets a three-mode KRTC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and two power modes which regulate power output. Speaking of which, the new Z900 comes powered by a Euro 5 compliant version of the 948cc, inline-four engine that produces 123bhp and 98.6Nm of torque.
Kawasaki is offering the motorcycle in two, dual-tone colour schemes- lime green with black, and a black with red paint scheme. The manufacturer also claims to have improved the suspension settings and has fitted the new Z900 with Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres.
We expect Kawasaki to launch the updated Z900 in India early in January with deliveries to take place a couple of weeks after its launch.
