- Himalayan to be launched in the US by end of this year
- Is the same as the model sold here
- Classic 500 to be discontinued in US
Royal Enfield is scheduled to launch the 2020 Himalayan in the USA soon and will begin pre-orders in the country from 1 September.
The Himalayan, which will be exported from India, is the same as the model sold here. As compared to the previous iteration, the 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan is equipped with a hazard light, redesigned side stand as well as switchable ABS. It is also offered in new colours- Lake Blue, Rock Red, and Gravel Gray to the palette which already had the Sleet Grey and Granite Black.
Powering the motorcycle is a 411cc, single-cylinder motor that is air-cooled and fuel-injected. This motor churns out 24.3bhp and 32Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield also claims to have improved the braking system on the 2020 Himalayan for more feel and lesser stopping distance.
On the other hand, the manufacturer launched the Classic 500 Tribute Edition to mark the end of the 500cc era in the United Kingdom.
