- Suzuki GSX-R125 gets MotoGP livery
- Is powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder engine
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Suzuki has taken the wraps off the GSX-R125 MotoGP edition in Japan just a month after launching the motorcycle in the country.
The special edition Suzuki GSX-R125 gets a blue and silver colour scheme inspired by the 2020 GSX-RR MotoGP machine to commemorate the manufacturer’s 100th anniversary. It also gets bold Suzuki and Ecstar branding on the fairing that completes its look. However, apart from the new colour scheme, the GSX-R125 MotoGP remains the same mechanically.
Powering the 134kg motorcycle is a 124cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces 14.8bhp at 10,000rpm and 11Nm at 8000rpm. It rides on 17-inch wheels with telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Whereas braking is done by discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Moreover, Suzuki is offering its smallest fully-faired motorcycle with features like keyless ignition, full-LED headlamp, and fully-digital instrument cluster.
Besides the MotoGP colour, the Suzuki GSX-R125 is also available in Triton Blue Metallic, Titan Black, and Brilliant White. The Suzuki GSX-R125’s performance figures are enough to make the KTMRC 125 hot under the collar. It also weighs around 20kg lesser than the latter, making it a worthy and interesting competitor. However, it unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon.
