- 2020 Suzuki SV650 unveiled for global markets
- Gets new colour schemes
- Could be launched in India
Suzuki has unveiled the 2020 SV650 for international markets. As part of the update, the streetfighter gets three new colour schemes.
It gets a new matte silver colour which Suzuki calls ‘Mystic Silver Metallic’ that comes with contrasting blue wheels. The SV650’s trellis frame with this colour scheme is also finished in blue. There also is a ‘Matte Black Metallic’ colour with red frame and wheels. Suzuki is also offering an all black colour on the 2020 SV650 called ‘Glass Sparkle Black’.
Besides this, the motorcycle remains the same. It comes powered by a 645cc, V-Twin engine similar to the VStrom 650 XT that is available in India. While the latter produces 71bhp and 62Nm, the SV650’s motor is capable of producing 76bhp and 64Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. However, the SV650 misses out on the electronic aids that the VStrom 650 offers- traction control, switchable ABS- and only sports a dual-channel ABS along with low-rpm assist to prevent stalling.
We can expect Suzuki to bring the SV650 in India by 2021 with a price tag of around Rs 6.60 lakhs to Rs 6.80 lakhs. This will position it below the VStrom 650 XT’s Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag.
