- Suzuki launches the 2020 Swish 125 in Taiwan
- New colour options enhance its sporty look
- Remains majorly unchanged in terms of hardware
Suzuki has launched the 2020 edition of the Swish 125 scooter in Taiwan. The Japanese bike maker has introduced new funky colour options for the scooter which enhance its sporty, pit scooter-like styling.
The most special one from the new colour palette is the combination of blue and silver shade which pays tribute to Suzuki’s iconic MotoGP machine from the olden days. Other dual-tone paint schemes include white and grey, blue and black, red and black and a full black version. The latter two variants sport red coloured alloy wheels which look eye-catchy.
The chiseled front apron of the Swish 125 houses an LED headlamp while the sleek tail lamp is also an LED unit. From the pointed handlebar cowl to the angular split grab rail, the design is quite aggressive for a scooter. For displaying information, it gets an orange back lit LCD console which packs a decent amount of data. Furthermore, anti-skid footboard and a large under seat storage provision with a USB charger are also a part of the package.
Propelling the Suzuki Swish 125 is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor which churns out 9.3bhp at 7,000rpm and 10Nm at 6,000rpm. This is certainly the same unit which powers the Access 125 available in India, albeit with a different state of tune. The Swish rides on 10-inch wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. Braking is handled by a disc up front and a drum brake at the rear.
Suzuki’s India portfolio had the Swish 125 a few years back which was based on the Access 125. However, that was an entirely different, India-specific product. Now, with the existing Access 125 and Burgman Street 125 fetching decent sales for the brand, the new Swish is unlikely to join them.
