- 2020 V-Strom 250 launched in Japan
- Only gets aesthetic updates
- India won’t get this bike
Suzuki has just launched the 2020 version of the V-Strom 250 in Japan. This entry-level adventure motorcycle has been priced at JPY 5,70,240 (Rs 3.8 lakhs) for the standard model, and JPY 6,02,640 (Rs 6 lakhs) for the ABS model.
As a part of the model year update, Suzuki has just gone with aesthetic additions. The mechanical bits of the motorcycle are untouched. Japan now gets the V-Strom 250 in two new colours – black and metallic silver. There are some new decal additions on the fuel tank and the beak as well.
In terms of performance, there are no changes. The V-Strom 250 uses a 248cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that produces 24bhp and 22Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via chain drive.
Unfortunately, India won’t get this V-Strom 250 as it would be a bit too expensive in its segment. However, Suzuki will launch an affordable and more accessible 250cc adventure bike that is being specifically developed for the Indian market. While the design language will be similar to the international spec V-Strom 250, the engine, seat height, ground clearance and few other bits will be developed keeping Indian consumers in mind.
