Triumph Motorcycles will update its India portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Street Triple R. While the company has not revealed the official launch date, the motorcycle is expected to arrive in a matter of days. Several dealerships have already commenced the pre-bookings for the motorcycle.
The Street Triple R will join the flagship naked roadster, the Street Triple RS that is already available for sale in the Indian market. The upcoming Triumph Street Triple R, which will compete against the likes of BMW F 900 R, Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, KTM 790 Duke, and Ducati Monster 821, is likely to arrive near the Rs 8.5 lakh price range.
Styling cues on the Street Triple R include twin-pod LED headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned tank shrouds and a sleeker tail section. Mechanical specifications include a 765cc, inline three-cylinder engine that makes 116bhp of power and 77Nm of torque. In comparison, the Street Triple RS is tuned to draw 121.36bhp and 77Nm from the same motor.
In more updates, the RS variant of the Street Triple range, which was launched in India at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 11.13 lakh, has received its first price hike. The motorcycle now retails at Rs 11.33 lakh.
