- 2020 Street Triple R gets cosmetic update
- Comes with 765cc, inline-three engine
- Likely to be launched in India by end of this year
Triumph has revealed the 2020 Street Triple R in international markets. As part of the update, the Street Triple R sports cosmetic and well as mechanical changes.
In terms of styling, the Street Triple R borrows its design from the top-spec Street Triple RS. It gets the aggressive LED DRLs integrated in the twin headlamps. The motorcycle also sports redesigned tank shrouds and a sleeker tail section. However, the major update comes in the form of the 765cc, inline-three cylinder motor derived from the Moto2 engine. This motor produces 116bhp of power; slightly lesser than the Street Triple RS’s 121bhp output. Torque figures remain the same at 77Nm.
Furthermore, the Street Triple R comes with a quickshifter as standard and offers an analogue-digital instrument cluster. Suspension hardware is sourced from Showa whereas braking duties are taken care of by Brembo calipers.
Triumph is expected to launch the Street Triple R in India by the end of 2020. It will sit below the Street Triple RS and we expect it to be priced around Rs 8.5 lakhs, ex-showroom. It will directly compete against the KTM 790 Duke in the country.
