Triumph Motorcycle India has postponed the launch of the 2020 Street Triple RS due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The Indian arm of the British two-wheeler manufacturer said in a statement that the new launch date for the 2020 Street Triple RS will be announced after 31 March. The flagship model of the Street Triple range was scheduled to be launched in the Indian market on 25 March.
To give you a quick recap, the new Triumph Street Triple RS gets several upgrades over its predecessor. Visual changes to the naked roadster include sharper headlights, and a few tweaks to the fuel tank design, tank extensions, radiator guards, belly pan and tail section. The 2020 model also boasts of a new Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument cluster.
Unlike the 2020 Tiger series, the Street Triple range does not get a displacement increase. Thus, the new Street Triple RS continues to use a 765cc, in-line three-cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver 121bhp of power and 78.6Nm of torque. Triumph Motorcycle claim that the engine on the 2020 model has been tweaked for more refinement and better mid-range performance. The six-speed gearbox gets a quickshifter.
Cycle parts on the top-spec version include fully-adjustable upside-down forks from Showa at the front and Ohlins mono-shock at the rear to perform the shock absorption tasks. Anchoring department includes Brembo brakes while the 17-inch wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.
