- Launched at an introductory price tag of Rs 11.13 lakh
- Features revised design and updated engine
- Bookings to open after the lockdown
Triumph Motorcycles recently announced the launch of the 2020 Street Triple RS in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the flagship Street Triple series motorcycle was launched at the same price tag as the old, BS4 model. The Rs 11.13 lakh (ex-showroom PAN India) tag, however, is introductory, and the company may revise the price of the 2020 Street Triple RS in July this year. Previously, Triumph Motorcycles India had announced that it will hike the prices of the BS6 Bonneville range in July 2020.
The 2020 Street Triple RS features several styling and mechanical revisions. The revised styling includes redesigned headlights and body panels for a refreshed look. The 2020 iteration also features a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display that works with MyTriumph connectivity system software to offer access to GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation.
The 2020 Street Triple RS complies with the BS6 emission norm. However, the motorcycle has not suffered any power loss, and the 765cc, in-line three-cylinder, BS6-compliant motor continues to make 121.36bhp of peak power. Triumph Motorcycles has revised the tuning and the BS6 model is claimed to deliver 9% improved power and torque in the mid-range. The six-speed gearbox, which is equipped with a slipper and an assist clutch function, further benefits from Triumph Shift Assist bi-directional quickshifter.
The bookings for the 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will commence after the lockdown, which is currently scheduled to end on 3 May 2020.
