Following a few spy shots and a teaser, Triumph has finally revealed the next-generation model of its manic street fighter, the Street Triple RS. While the existing version of the bike is highly capable, the new model is anticipated to be even more exciting. In order to confirm just that, we have been invited in the beautiful country of Spain to test ride the new Street Triple RS. And for the curious readers, the review will be up on BikeWale soon!
Triumph has substantially updated the motorcycle for 2020. While the styling has become more aggressive, the electronics and hardware package have also been overhauled. The full-colour TFT instrument cluster now gets Bluetooth-connectivity which gives access to turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro features. The five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider) have also been tinkered with for better control besides the introduction of a two-way quickshifter as standard.
The 765cc, inline-triple motor of the Street Triple is already a gem of an engine. However, in the quest to make it more torquey and punchy in the mid-range, the British bikemaker has revised the powerplant with a new Balancer and crankshaft. This has resulted in a hike in torque, which now stands at 78.6Nm while the power remains unchanged at 121bhp.
We have done a detailed story on what’s new on the 2020 Street Triple over its predecessor. You can read about it here. As for its India launch, Triumph will bring it to our shores in January 2020 and it will be priced slightly higher than the existing model which retails at Rs 11.13 lakhs (ex-showroom).
