Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the latest iteration of the flagship Street Triple series product, the 2020 Street Triple RS. Here we list the top five highlights of the Euro5/BS6 compliant version of the motorcycle.
Pricing
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS has been launched in the Indian market at an ex-showroom (PAN India) price tag of Rs 11.13 lakh. The previous model, too, was sold at a similar price tag.
Updated Design
The latest version of the Street Triple RS features an updated design that comprises of new, aggressive-looking headlights and DRLs, new fly screen, revised bodywork and a redesigned exhaust with carbon fibre finisher. Buyers can select between two colour options – Matt Jet Black with Aluminium Silver and Yellow decals or Silver Ice with Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals.
Engine
Despite complying with the newest emission norms, the 2020 Street Triple RS continues to make 121.36bhp of peak power. The maximum torque is rated at 79Nm. Triumph Motorcycles claim a 9% improvement in power and torque in the mid-range. The six-speed gearbox is equipped with a slipper and an assist clutch function. The Triumph Shift Assist bi-directional quickshifter has been added as standard to the 2020 Street Triple RS.
Improved Technology
The 2020 Street Triple RS gets several tech-upgrades, and the motorcycle now comes with a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT screen. The MyTriumph connectivity system software gives access to functions such as GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation. The electronic rider aids include five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider configurable), adjustable ABS and switchable traction control. The Rain mode restricts the power output to 98.6bhp.
Cycle Parts
Being the flagship model of the Street Triple range, the RS version comes with premium hardware such as 41mm Showa big piston front forks and Öhlins STX40 piggyback reservoir mono-shock rear suspension – both fully adjustable. Braking department uses high specification Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc front callipers and a Brembo sliding rear calliper. The motorcycle rides on Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres.
Triumph Motorcycles India will also offer over 60 genuine accessories to further customise the motorcycle.
