Triumph has launched the new Tiger 900 adventure tourer in India. Available in three variants, the GT is the road-biased version which is also the most affordable at Rs 13.70 lakh. Needless to say, the Tiger is one of the iconic names in the world of ADVs. However, there are three other motorcycles with a similar price tag which are equally desirable in their own ways.
Ducati Supersport: Rs 12.08-13.60 lakh
The Ducati Supersport is a versatile motorcycle which is not only adept for carving corners around mountain roads but is also relaxed enough also for daily commute. Despite featuring an aggressive design, it offers ergonomics which are suitable for long distance riding. It is powered by a 937cc, L-twin engine which makes 110bhp and 97Nm and gets electronics aids like multi-level traction control and ABS settings.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R: Rs 13.99 lakh
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is the most affordable litre-class track tool available in India. Propelling the bike to incredible speeds is a 999cc, in-line four cylinder which makes 200.2bhp in stock form while installing a RAM air intake pumps it up to 210bhp. Keeping this power in check are number of gizmos such as traction control, engine brake control, cornering management system, electronic throttle valves and three riding modes. With Showa suspension and Brembo brakes, the hardware is also top notch.
Indian Scout Bobber: Rs 13.28 lakh
If the aforementioned fully-faired hooligans don’t suit your liking, the Indian Scout Bobber is a calmer and more comfortable bobber-styled offering. It is based on the Scout cruiser but gets a stripped down look with blacked-out components and slightly aggressive ergonomics. Powering the Scout Bobber is a 1133cc, V-twin engine which produces 100bhp and 97Nm of peak torque. Indian also offers a host of optional accessories for the motorcycle to enhance its appeal.
