TVS Motor Company has launched the BS6 version of its 200cc naked street bike, the Apache RTR 200 4V. The motorcycle has received a host of updates that are not just limited to its engine. We got to spend some time with the motorcycle and before the review goes live shortly, here’s a detailed image gallery of 2020 Apache RTR 200.
While the overall styling of the motorcycle have been majorly retained, TVS has made certain changes to make the bike look more aggressive.
The most prominent change is on the headlamp cluster which now boasts of a much more angular and radical design. Besides the claw-shaped position lamps, it also gets LED headlamps now, as opposed to the conventional bulbs on the previous model.
Further adding to its sporty appeal are the new set of edgy graphics present on the bikini fairing, fuel tank extensions and rear cowl.
At the rear, it retains the same split-type pillion grab rails, compact LED tail lamp along with conventional turn indicators.
The instrument cluster continues to be a fully-digital unit which displays more information now and boasts of a different layout. It also gets the recently introduced ‘SmartXonnect’ feature which allows the display to be connected with smartphone via Bluetooth.
The naked street bike also gets a tweaked switch gear which now incorporates a dedicated ‘Info Switch’ for easy navigation through various functions of the display.
Although the 2020 Apache gets the same split seat, the bike maker has now introduced FIP (foam-in-place) technology for added comfort while riding over longer distances.
The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 197.75cc, four-valve, single-cylinder motor. However, the engine now features TVS’ Race Tuned-Fuel Injection ‘RT-Fi’ technology. The power figures continue to be the same at 20.2bhp and 16.8Nm.
While the new Apache remains unchanged on the hardware front, the rear wheel is now shod with a Pro-Tork radial tubeless tyre and the front gets Remora rubber.
It comes equipped with telescopic forks and a monoshock for damping while braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends assisted by dual-channel ABS along with RLP (Rear wheel Lift-off Protection).
TVS has priced the new 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V at Rs 1.24 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is a premium of Rs 10,000 over the BS4 Apache RTR 200 4V Carb with SmartXonnect.
