- Gets new colour for 2020
- Is powered by 155cc engine
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has launched the 2020 Force 155 scooter in Taiwan for HKD 33,800 (approx Rs 3.34 lakh).
The 2020 Force 155 is offered in a Silver Star paint apart from the Glossy Black, Matte Black and White colours it was available with. The scooter sports an extremely edgy and sporty styling with aggressive lines on the front fairing that houses a faux air-intake and split headlamp setup that is flanked by turn signals.
It also gets a motorcycle-like handlebar with a fully-digital instrument cluster, an apron-mounted windscreen, and an exhaust canister. Interestingly, the Yamaha Force 155 comes with the fuel-filler cap fitted on the front apron itself.
As for its motor, the scooter is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine. While Yamaha hasn’t revealed figures yet, it is expected to be the same as the Majesty 155 which puts out 14.9bhp and 14Nm. The Force 155 is the only 155cc scooter from Yamaha to use a central-mounted monoshock at the rear while the front end has telescopic forks. Braking is done by large petal discs at both ends.
Yamaha currently does not have a 155cc scooter in India. However, it is unlikely to offer the sporty Force 155 in the country anytime soon. Instead, going by the recent popularity of maxi-scooters in India, we can expect the manufacturer to launch something like the NMax 155 in India.
