- New Yamaha YZF-R25 gets new colours for 2020
- No mechanical changes
- India likely to get 2020 YZF-R3 by end of this year
Yamaha has unveiled the 2020 YZF-R25 for international markets. As part of the update, the motorcycle sports two new colours- Matt Silver and Matt Blue.
The silver paint replicates the 2019 Yamaha M1 Fiat Estoril Edition and comes adorned with subtle, black/red highlights. On the other hand, the blue paint scheme comes with a combination of silver on the front fender, side fairing and tail section.
Besides the new colours, the YZF-R25 remains the same mechanically. Nevertheless, India is expected to get the bigger, 2020 YZF-R3 by the end of this year or early 2021. The motorcycle comes powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine which produces 41bhp at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Suspension duties are taken care of by inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear while braking is done by disc brakes at both ends. While the international model does not get ABS, the Indian version will come equipped with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
In terms of competition, the Yamaha YZF-R3 will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 400, KTM RC390 and the TVS Apache RR 310 in the country.
