The American Honda Motor Company has issued a recall notice for 2020-2021 motorcycles. The manufacturer has recalled those motorcycles over a faulty rear reflector issue. The rear reflector lens may not reflect brightly enough, which may lead to reduced visibility of the motorcycle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The potentially affected vehicle models include Super Cub C125 2020 and 2021, CB500F 2021, CRF250L 2020, CRF300L 2021, Grom 2020, CB500X 2020 and 2021, CB650R 2020 and 2021, CBR300R 2020 and 2021, CBR500R 2020 and 2021, CBR650R 2020 and 2021, Rebel 300 2020 and 2021, Rebel 500 2020 and 2021, and Monkey 2020 and 2021. According to Honda Motors, a total of 28,528 motorcycle units are affected.
The company will start notifying the respective motorcycle owners via email from 23 July 2021. Meanwhile, it has already started sending notifications to the dealers. Upon receiving the notice, customers are expected to visit the authorised Honda Powersports dealers where the rear reflector will be replaced free of charge. The Japanese manufacturer has also announced that it will reimburse the repair expense to the owners who have already carried out the repair.
