- To be launched by the end of Q1
- To be sold in three colour options
- Features upright ergonomics and comprehensive electronics package
Aprilia has confirmed that its new middleweight roadster, the Tuono 660 will make debut in the international markets by the end of Q1. The online pre-bookings for the motorcycle had commenced in the European market in October last year. The Indian launch details, however, are not available yet.
The new Tuono 660 will be a naked roadster motorcycle that will join the Aprilia RS660 in the middleweight segment. The roadster features a triple LED headlight unit with DRL lights, a muscular fuel tank, underbelly exhaust, and a step-up seat. The Tuono 660 will be sold in three colours – Concept Black, Iridium Grey, and Acid Gold. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 183 kg (kerb weight).
The motorcycle features a die-cast aluminium frame and swingarm, while the adjustable suspension setup has been sourced from Kayaba. Unlike the RS660, the Tuono 660 features upright ergonomics. The high handlebar and the chassis architecture measurements differentiate the Tuono 660 from the RS 660.
The Tuono 660 uses the engine as a stressed member. The final drive is shorter than that of the RS 660. The 660cc, parallel-twin motor features a 270-degree firing order and it produces 95bhp of maximum power.
The comprehensive electronics package includes Ride-by-Wire electronic accelerator, multi-level traction control, ABS, anti-wheelie control, cruise control, engine brake, and selectable engine maps. The Tuono 660 features five Riding Modes (three dedicated to road riding and two for the track).
