- 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 unveiled
- Gets new design for better aerodynamics and comfort
- 1,077 engine is now Euro5 compliant with unchanged power figures
Aprilia has unveiled the majorly overhauled, 2021 edition of its flagship naked motorcycle, the Tuono V4. With an aim to make it a more capable and versatile machine, the Italian bike maker has updated the Tuono in several areas.
Most importantly, the 1,077cc, V4 engine of the bike has been revised to comply with the new Euro5 emission norms. In spite of that, the performance figures have been retained as they were and it continues to belt out an amazing 175bhp of power and 121Nm of peak torque.
The Tuono has gotten more advanced in the electronics department with the inclusion of a larger TFT console along with as many as six riding modes which include three track-focused and three road-oriented modes. Every mode offers different levels of traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and ABS. Notably, traction control and ABS are controlled by six-axis IMU and Mirelli 11MP ECU. And to make corner-carving easier at night, the motorcycle also gets cornering lights now.
While the engine is just as powerful as before and feature list is elongated, Aprilia has also worked on the ergonomics for a friendlier experience. There’s an easier-to-reach handlebar while the windscreen is also improved for better wind deflection. Moreover, the pillion seat is more accommodating. In case one plans to tour on the Tuono, Aprilia also has touring accessories on offer.
As for the changes that meet the eye, the Tuono V4 has adopted Aprilia’s new design language which we have already seen on the upcoming Tuono 660. The bike boasts of the redone fairing with in-built winglets for better aerodynamics along with a changed fuel tank design to offer a better riding position. Aprilia will continue to sell the Tuono V4 in a standard and a Factory variant with the latter incorporating the more premium Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension.
Aprilia will officially launch the new 2021 Tuono V4 in a few days in the international markets which will perhaps be followed by an India launch at a later stage.
