The Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport has been unveiled in China and is based on the Leoncino 500 that is also available in the Indian market, although with a few differences. While there is no word about whether it would be launched in our country, we bring to you all the details of the Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport.
A mix of two designs
The Leoncino 500 is styled like a retro-scrambler motorcycle but the Leoncino 500 Sport doubles up on that design with cafe-racer elements. It sports a headlamp cowl with a windscreen that is reminiscent of retro cafe racer motorcycles as well as clip-on handlebars for a dedicated riding position.
Moreover, the otherwise blacked-out Benelli Leoncino 500 Sport comes with silver-finished dual-exhaust canisters that look neat along with a saddlebag fitted on the right side. However, the rest of the motorcycle remains similar to the Leoncino 500.
Decent feature list
Benelli has equipped the Leoncino 500 Sport with features like full-LED lighting for the headlamp, turn signals and tail lamp. It also gets a dual-channel ABS, hazard lights, and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Slightly more power
While the Leoncino 500 Sport uses the same 500cc, parallel-twin engine as the standard version, it churns out slightly more power and torque. The Sport offers 47.5bhp and 47Nm whereas the base version produces 46.8bhp and 46Nm. Nonetheless, both come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
A different set of wheels
Now the Leoncino 500 Sport uses upside down forks up and a monoshock to handle suspension duties and a pair of discs upfront and a single disc at the rear for braking. This setup is the same as the Leoncino 500. However, unlike the latter which gets alloy wheels, the Sport version rides on 17-inch spoke wheels.
Colours
Benelli is offering the Leoncino 5000 Sport in a choice of three colours- Black, Silver and Green.
