- 2021 Benelli TRK502X BS6 launched
- Prices start at Rs 5.19 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Rs 31,000 cheaper than the BS4 model
Benelli has launched the 2021 BS6-compliant model of its middle-weight adventure tourer, the TRK 502X, in India. The prices of the motorcycle start at Rs 5.19 lakh for the Metallic Dark Grey colour option. That makes the bike Rs 31,000 cheaper than its BS4 counterpart. The TRK 502X BS6 is also available in Pure White and Benelli Red paint schemes which cost Rs 5.29 lakh. Notably, these are introductory prices, bound to increase in the coming days.
(All prices are ex-showroom)
The most obvious change has been executed in its 499cc, parallel-twin engine that emits cleaner gases now. In spite of that, it continues to churn out 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed gearbox.
Other changes are subtle and identical to those received by the BS6 model of its road-biased version, which was launched in January this year. So now you get backlit switchgear, aluminium-frame knuckle guards, new handlebar grips and redesigned mirrors for better visibility. The instrument cluster is also tweaked as it gets a different layout, orange LCD and white backlit analogue tachometer.
Being a more off-road-focused model, the TRK 502X rides on a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination with a respectable 220mm of ground clearance. In order to lessen the fuel stops while touring, it has been bestowed with a large 20-litre fuel tank. This is accompanied by a large windscreen and a new cast aluminium rear box bracket that add to its touring credentials. Meanwhile, stopping power comes from twin 320mm floating discs with a two-piston calliper up front and a single 260mm disc with one piston calliper at the rear.
Bookings for the Benelli TRK 502X BS6 are open at Rs 10,000 with the bikes ready to be delivered. The company is also offering a three-year unlimited kilometers warranty as standard. As for the competition, the motorcycle locks horns with the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT, Kawasaki Versys 650 and the new Honda CB500X.
