BMW Motorrad has unveiled the Euro5-compliant G 310 GS for the global markets. The motorcycle will debut in the Indian market on 8 October, 2020 along with the updated G 310 R. The global press statement revealed the mechanical specifications, features, and detailed images of the entry-level adventure motorcycle's latest iteration. Here we bring you the images of the 2021 BMW G 310 GS.
In terms of design, the updated BMW G 310 GS carries the same silhouette as the old motorcycle. Thus, the styling cues include semi-fairing, beak design at the front, a windscreen and a step-up saddle.
The updates include an LED headlight at the front instead of a halogen unit as was on the old model and LED turn indicators. The updated lighting setup is now at par with its direct rival, the KTM 390 Adventure. BMW Motorrad claims that the new LED lights deliver better performance while LED flashing turn indicators increase visibility in traffic.
The new G 310 GS gets adjustable clutch lever and a handbrake lever. The levers are adjustable in four stages.
The Euro5 compliant 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection makes 33.5bhp at 9,500rpm and a maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm. The engine housing covers of alternator, clutch, and water pump are painted titanium grey metallic.
The motorcycle now benefits from a ride-by-wire throttle. The six-speed gearbox, on the other hand, features an anti-hopping clutch.
The braking setup on the motorcycle comprises of a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm rotor at the back. The safety net includes dual-channel ABS. The suspension tasks are handled by 41mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock.
