- BMW reveals special edition models of the 2021 R 1250 GS and GS Adventure

BMW is celebrating 40 years of the iconic GS brand by introducing special edition models of the 2021 R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure. The commemorative iteration of both the bikes wear a special livery while being equipped with a few extra features over the standard variants.
The 40-year special edition GS bikes are available in four colour options. The most dynamic-looking of these is the one which adorns black and yellow paint job along with yellow-tinted visor, yellow highlights and golden spoke wheels. Other colour schemes include black, white and BMW’s traditional Rallye livery.
The special edition R 1250 GS and GS Adventure also incorporate valuable touring-oriented features which come as standard. These include Dynamic traction control, ABS Pro, eco driving model, USB and 12V charging ports. The Rallye edition also sports a luggage carrier. Furthermore, the buyers can also opt for extras such as hill start control Pro, 30mm handlebar risers, adaptive LED lights and a few electronic aids.
BMW has retained the smooth 1,254cc, air-cooled engine but with certain internal changes for Euro5/BS6-compliance. However, it continues to develop 132.1bhp of power and a meaty 143Nm of peak torque. In terms of hardware, the bikes continue to ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel which are accompanied by BMW’s telelever and paralever suspension setup.
BMW has already launched the R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure 40 years special edition models in the international markets which demand a substantial price premium over their standard counterparts. The company is expected to launch these bikes in India as well, following the introduction of their standard BS6-compliant iterations.
